Subtantive Beauty
Substantive Beauty illustrates a visual voice of honor to the maturing woman. Inspired, in-part, by personal observations and experiences, these images celebrate who she is: body, mind, spirit, and experience. She is accomplished, has value, and her beauty shines from the inside out. She is a beacon for the generations following her.
My approach in creating these photographs was gleaned from my affinity for fine art portraiture and black and white photography. I explore figurative and literal contextual responses to three fundamental questions: Who is she? Who else is she? Who can she be? The images are as natural as they are compelling. Embracing the premise that whether seen or unseen, known or unknown, the maturing woman is captivating in all her Substantive Beauty.

Hardcore New Yorker, coffee addict, and dog mom extraordinaire. I am a survivor, comic relief, quirk finder, hair artist, loyal sister, and lover of all music that makes me want to dance. I am a strong confident Latina woman born and raised in New York City. I beleieve that you can continue to reinvent yourself at any age if you have a passion and vision for yourself and of the greater good, there is nothing out of your reach.
